About Red Dog

Red Dog is a “Casino” poker game, which actually means it is not one of the traditionally played poker games that we all hear so much about. In a traditional game of poker, each participant plays against each other to win a prize pot that they have wagered. In the game of casino poker, the punter plays against the house, as in all typical casino games. There are a number of Casino Poker games and these include but are not limited to Pai Gow, Caribbean Stud Poker, Trey Poker, and even video poker.

This particular variation is on offer at all the good online casinos and is similar in many ways to the game of in-between, which also goes by the name of acey-deucy. Learn to play Red Dog online, and you would be able to walk into any live casino and grab a game or two of acey-deucy.

Object

The object of this game is obvious, any player wants to play be entertained and win. So, knowing how to play is a big help, and fortunately when playing online we can try games for free first and get the gist of the rules, and style of a game, without it costing us any money at first. Red Dog is simple to play where all cards are ranked as the same as in poker, only Aces are always high and the suit is irrelevant.

This is a three card poker game, where two cards are first dealt to the player face up. In the case of consecutive cards being dealt, the hand is a push. As the rules of Red Dog are looking for a spread, the dealer announces the spread only when cards are not matching or consecutive.

If a pair is dealt and the third card is the same – odds of 11.1 are paid out.

When a spread has been put in place by the dealer – for example, two cards of 7 and 10 would have a spread of 2 – another wager opportunity is offered to the player. The trick is then to have a third card dealt that fits within a spread of 2. So, the player would be looking for card values of 8 or 9, and this two card spread will pay odds of 4:1.

Bonus Features

There are no true bonus features in Red Dog, and it is a game that is in the public domain. But certain software companies may develop different variation, and perhaps even offer bonus features. Whether a player would take advantage of this or not would be entirely up to them.
