About Caribbean Stud Poker
This online version of poker is closer to a video poker game than any live version of the game. There is a pay table which explains what payoffs each winning hand will receive. But unlike a video poker game, you have to beat the dealer in order to win.
The most distinctive part of Caribbean Stud Poker is a progressive jackpot which can pay tens of thousands if you can get a Royal Flush on your hand. You'll also be rewarded nicely for the other five high hands, including a Flush.
If you're not interested in a progressive jackpot, this is probably not the version of poker you want to play. Other games give you more chances and better payoffs in the regular portion of the game.
Special Features
To begin the game of Caribbean Stud Poker, you need to make an Ante bet. You also have the option to make the Progressive Jackpot bet, which costs 1.00. Once the game starts, you will be dealt your five card hand. Just one card of the dealer will be revealed.
At this point, you'll need to decide if you want to fold your hand. If you do, you will lose your Ante. But if you decide to continue, you will need to double your Ante bet. At this point, the remaining cards of the dealer will be revealed.
The dealer needs at least an Ace and a King to have a hand that “qualifies.” If he doesn't, then the player's extra bet is returned and his Ante bet is paid even money. If the dealer does qualify, his hand is then compared to the player. If the dealer's hand is better, the player loses.
If the player's hand is better, he wins and will receive at least even money. The other payouts range from 2-1 for two pair up to 100-1 for a Royal Flush. That payoff hardly compares to what you would get for that hand in most casino poker games, but that is why you need to play this game's Progressive Jackpot.
Special Bonus Features
To win your 1.00 progressive bet, you need to get at least a Flush. That hand pays 50.00, a Full House pays 100.00 and Four-of-a-kind 500.00. If you get a Straight Flush, you will collect 10% of the Jackpot pool. You'll collect the entire pool if you get a Royal Flush.
