About Blackjack
Platipus, like most casino software providers, has developed its own RNG (random number generator) blackjack game. In a world where there are so many alternatives to choose from, Platipus is going to have to make their game stand out. Modern and tidy 3D graphics are one thing, but it is the gameplay that wins over players nowadays. Launched in 2018, Platipus’ Blackjack effort uses a total of 312 cards, consisting of six French blackjack decks of fifty-two cards. Let’s see what else this blackjack game has to offer.
Betting and Rules
As mentioned, there are six decks of cards in play here. The game shuffles the decks in-between each bet, so you can forget about counting cards. The wagering setup is primitive but optimised for mobile gameplay. Bets in this game range from a low and very affordable 0.50 a hand up to 20.00 a hand. Naturally, this makes Platipus’ blackjack game well-suited for low rolling players.
In terms of the rules, the dealer must stand on all seventeens and offer you the chance to take an insurance bet when an ace is visible. You can double your bet at any time and doubling following a split is fine, assuming you aren’t splitting aces. You can only split once (per hand/round), and only if your two starting cards are of equal value. You’ll win 1:1 for any win, 3:2 for a blackjack win, and 2:1 on insurance bets here. Insurance bets cost half your original stake, which is a nice touch.
Bonus Bets
There are no bonus features in this blackjack game. However, there is an RTP rate of 99.58%, which is one of the lowest we’ve seen, and better than the industry standard 99.50% found elsewhere. High rollers aren’t totally out of luck, as Platipus has a VIP Blackjack game that allows you to raise the stakes to a maximum of 200.00 a hand.
