All American Video Poker Review

About All American Video Poker

This game was created by BetSoft and naturally, the theme is a celebration of America. There are prominent displays of the stars and stripes of the US flag as well as the Statue of Liberty and the national symbol, the Bald Eagle.

Though the setting and the theme may be different from other video poker games, the rules are basically the same. There is just one line in this game and you can play it for as little as $0.05 a hand. The maximum coin size is $5.00, and you can play five coins on each spin. As in most video poker games, if you hit a Royal Flush with the maximum number of coins in play, you'll get paid 4,000-1. The largest potential payoff is $20,000.

Features

In keeping with the American theme of the game, the entire playing board is strictly in red, white and blue, the colours of the American flag. Surprisingly, there is no patriotic music evident at any point. You might have thought that a winning hand would be accompanied by a rousing George M. Cohan song, but that's not the case.

Strategy

The feature which makes All American Video Poker distinctive is its pay table. There are unusually high payoffs in this game for both a straight and a straight flush.

In almost all other video poker games, a flush pays more than a straight and a full house pays more than a flush. But in All American Video Poker they all  pay 8-1. Usually, a straight flush will pay a little more than four-of-a-kind, but in this game, it pays almost six times as much.

With the larger than usual return for a straight and with the giant payoff for a straight flush, you know what hands to try for when you have the option to hold or fold your cards.

Bonus Game Features

You can click the DOUBLE button after a winning hand and you'll have the chance to increase your payoff. This gambling game, like most produced by Playtech, gives you the option to risk just half of your winnings if you don't want to put all of it at stake. As usual in a video poker gamble game, you're shown one card face up and you'll have to beat it by choosing a higher card among the four cards offered.

I'm not impressed with it. I like 7 card or 5 card stud poker.
