TWISTER

About Twister

Twister is an older slot machine from Microgaming, and it is one which is played over 5 reels, and contains some very hillbilly looking imagery. Twister contains very colourful imagery, of people with few teeth, dolled up ladies with big busts, tramp looking people, trailor parks, portable toilets, and trucks. It is not the most flattering slot ever devised in terms of theme, and there may even be a few people offended. It is intended to be comical, in a light-hearted manner, though.

The Twister slot isn’t offered at many casinos today (either because it's old, or politically incorrect), so you’ll be hard pressed to find it. This slot features just 15 paylines, and they are adjustable. Also adjustable are the coin denominations, which range from 0.01 up to 0.50. As many as 10 coins can be wagered per payline, offering you a wagering range which stems upwards from 0.01 per line, per spin, to 75.00 a spin. At most, this slot can see you win up to 15,000 coins. To win that kind of cash, you need to line up 5 tornado symbols on any active payline.

Special Features

Tornado wild symbols can also substitute for all other symbols in the game, since they are wild icons. Tornado wilds cannot replace themselves with scatter icons, though. This is customary not just for Microgaming, but virtually all wilds in all other slots.

Scatter icons take on the shape of a television set, and a rather old-looking one at that. The television set can offer you scattered wins worth 1x, 2x, 20x, or 60x your total bet. It can also trigger a bonus when 3 or more appear in any positions on the reels.

A gamble feature has been included in this slot. It isn’t advised to use it, though. You can trigger it after any winning spin, but your chances of success are quite harsh (50-50 or less) and you don’t have too much to gain from it. This might explain why Microgaming has kind of done away with this feature in later, more modern online slots.

Bonus Feature

If you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters anywhere on the screen simultaneously, then you will trigger a total of 20 free games. Those 20 free spins are played straight away on the same set of reels, and at the same stake as you initially triggered the bonus. All wins in the free spins bonus round will be doubled. Free spins can also be retriggered during this feature, much to the delight of slot lovers everywhere. To do that, you need to line up 3 or more scatters whilst the bonus round is in session.
