Tiger Moon is not a common Microgaming developed slot, but it is one which you should be able to get your hands on if you dig around. Launched in 2013, this slot machine game is Asian themed (Chinese, in particular), but you probably guessed that from the title. It is played over Microgaming’s customary 5-reel, 243 ways to win platform. As is always the case with 243 ways to win slots, players are not going to be able to alter the number of lines they play with, but they can get away with those bets which range from a floor of 0.30 per spin up to a total of 37.50 per spin. It’s not exactly bank busting stuff from Microgaming. Neither is the non-progressive jackpot for that matter. The most you can ever hope to win with this slot is 50x your total bet. It is hardly surprising then, that Tiger Moon has not gone on to become one of Microgaming’s more popular titles.
Special Features
Players are going to want to keep an eye out for the lucky coin. It’s unmistakable, since it typically has a hole in it. This symbol appears as a wild, and it can substitute for all other icons barring the scatter icon, which is in the shape of the titular title.
Scatter icons can trigger a free spins bonus if they land 3 or more times in any position on the reels. Scattered wins will also be paid out to players for landing those symbols on the reels.
A gamble feature has been included in this slot, which is bizarre given that Tiger Moon isn’t that old. The feature can see players attempt to double their winnings after a payline win, but there is just as much chance that they will lose them with this feature, so personally we’d avoid it.
Bonus Feature
Now, back to the free spins bonus. Players will either start the feature with 8, 16 or 24 free games, depending on whether they landed 3, 4or 5 scatters to trigger the bonus. Once the bonus begins, the wilds suddenly become a lot more prosperous.
Wilds can only show up on the second and fourth reels of the slot, but they can offer decent multipliers when they feature in winning combinations. Landing wilds in winning combinations on the second or fourth reels will see players pocket wins of 4x and 5x their total bet, respectively. Landing them both in a winning combination will result in a win worth 20x the normal rate of pay being paid out to the player.
