FISTICUFFS

About Fisticuffs The Slot

The Net Entertainment portfolio of slots and other casino games are some of the nicest we have ever reviewed and ever played. Fisticuffs is another of NetEnts creations and is themed on the sport of boxing when this was a gentleman’s sport, and was even called fisticuffs back in the day of bare-knuckle boxing.  This is a quaint five reel, ten pay-line video slot with an antique feel, that allows players to win both ways (which is nice), and pays a top prize of up to 100 000 coins.

Special Features

This cartoon take on the old fashioned sport of fisticuffs has a lot going for it that is special. First of all there are straight wilds which only appear on reel three, and substitutes for all symbols. This icon is the big fat boxer. There are also diagonal wilds which only appear on reels two and four – the skinny boxer with a big moustache. The straight wild can punch the diagonal wild to reel one or reel five, at the same time transforming symbols in-between into wild icons. If the Diagonal wild punches the straight wild, symbols above or below transform into additional wilds.

Apart from these fantastic wilds that also stack, icons used are all kinds of boxing paraphernalia: a champions’ belt, trophy, boxing gloves and shoes, bell, corner-stool, towel and spittoon. Illustrations are simple, colours are sepia, and it all comes together very, very well. Ambient sounds are the background noise that one might find when seated round a boxing ring, with a little bit of carnival music thrown in for good measure.

Pay-lines are fixed in this game, and ten coins per line may be played. Bets are available in a coin value of between 0.01, and 1.00. This adds up to a maximum wager of 200 credits. An Auto-spin toggle is available in the interface, and can be set for between ten and one-thousand spins.

Bonus Features

The bonus game in this slot is a boxing feature that takes place on the reels. This happens when the diagonal and straight wild appear together and start punching each other about as we described above. When adjacent symbols have been turned into wilds, these symbols remain on the reels while another re-spin is awarded. Stacked wilds may also appear on reels one and five during this re-spin; creating one additional all in opportunity to really hit the big money.
