About Deuces Wild
Deuces Wild is one of Microgaming’s video poker variants. The game takes its name from the fact that all 2s are wild in this game. Deuces Wild is a pretty standard title, with no too much in the way of graphics present. Deuces Wild can still see players pocket as much as 4,000 coins, if they win with the best hand, though.
How to play
As with all video poker games, the main goal is to construct the best poker hand that you possibly can. You will have some wild cards to help you. Anytime a 2 appears, it can be used to act in the stead of any card that you may need to complete a winning poker hand.
Obviously, you need to place your bet before anything happens. Once you have done so, you will be dealt five cards. Players can click on which cards they wish to hold, and leave ones that they wish to discard unselected. The game will automatically select cards that it think you should keep, but you can just click on them to discard them all the same. Click on the draw button to receive new cards for any that you wish to replace.
Your five card hand will then be complete, and measured against the pay-table above the hand. If you have a winning hand, you will be paid out for it.
Wagering and prizes
Wagering is a simple affair in Deuces Wild. Players can choose to stake between 1 and 5 coins per hand. This makes Deuces Wild cost just £1.25 per hand at its cheapest, whilst at its most expensive, it can set you back £25 per hand.
Due to the presence of wilds, additional poker hands are available in this game, which wouldn’t ordinarily be present in standard poker games. As a consequence, 3 of a Kind is the lowest paying hand you can have. Straights, Flushes, Full House, 4 of a Kind, and Straight Flushes all trump that. These hands in turn are bettered by 5 of a Kind, Deuces Royal Flush (a Royal Flush featuring 2s), and 4 Deuces (four 2s). The best paying hand is a Natural Royal Flush, which can see you land 4,000 coins when playing with the maximum bet.
The use of wilds means that you have a more than decent chance of winning in Deuces Wild. However, you do lose the smaller hands (2 Pairs and Jacks or Better) due to their presence. That is perfectly fair, though.
