About Craps
Craps is a casino table game in which wagers are placed using two dice, a board, and chips. The goal of craps is to correctly predict the shooter's dice value. Players gamble on the initial roll of the dice, known as the 'come-out roll,' to start the game. Players must choose whether the dice will land on a 7 or 11 (Pass Bet) or a 2, 3, or 12 (Don't Pass Bet) in this round. If the total dice value is 7 or 11 (known as a 'natural') or 2, 3, or 12 (also known as 'craps,' the round ends.
Special Features
If the total dice value rolled is a four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten, that number is called the 'Point,' and the game moves on to the next round. To help players follow the game, the base dealer will place a puck on the point number on the craps table and then collect further bets. The shooter takes another roll of the dice. This process continues until the shooter rolls a seven or the point number, at which point the craps game is over.
This is where pass-line bets are put on the craps table. The dealer will place wagers in the pass line box if a player believes the shooter will land a combined 7 or 11 on the dice. These are 'don't pass bets,' and the dealer will place them in the 'don't pass bar' box if the craps player believes the shooter will land a 2,3, or 12. On the craps table, the 'Big 6' and 'Big 8' are two of the most common wagers. Bettors place stakes on this part of the craps table if they believe the shooter will hit a 6 or 8 before a 7.
Bonus Features
Players can wager on whether the shooter will land a 3, 4, 9, 10, or 11 on a single roll of the dice at this portion of the craps table. The Field is the name for this type of wager. If players bet on the dice landing on 2 or 12, they can potentially double or even quadruple their money on this section of the craps table.
On a craps table layout, the Come and Don't Come sections work similarly to the pass-line bets. In a craps game, however, these wagers can only be placed after the pass line bet. In other words, if a player believes the shooter will roll a 7 or 11, they place their chips in the Come box. If a player believes the shooter will roll a 2 or 3 on their next roll, they can place their bet in the Don't Come box.
