About Jacks or Better Video Poker
This ORYX developed video poker game is about as basic as video poker games come. The actual game screen is rather petite, and that poses a bit of a problem for gameplay. ORYX’s Jacks or Better is based on the popular video poker variant of the same name, and is one of the less visually appealing games in this genre.
How to play
Like all video poker games, you must first place a bet before you can play. After your bet is staked, you will be dealt a total of 5 cards. Players do not have to worry about dealers or opponents in this game. You must simply build the best hand you can do to win.
After deciding which of the first five cards you wish to keep, and which you wish to discard, you’ll be given replacements cards. Those cards then form the final poker hand. This hand is then measured against the paytable, to determine if there is a winning hand or not.
Wagering and prizes
Players can choose coin sizes of 0.01 up to 1.00 in this video poker game. Up to 5 coins can be staked at any one time in this title. This will see you wager fall somewhere between the 0.01 per hand, and 5.00 per hand, minimum and maximum wagers.
Players can win with just a pair of Jacks or Better, as the game’s title suggests. You can also win with Two Pairs, Three of a Kind, Straights, Flushes, Full House, Four of a Kind, Straight Flushes, and Royal Flushes. You can only win the maximum jackpot of 4,000 coins when playing on the maximum bet and landing a Royal Flush.
Final thoughts
ORYX’s Jacks or Better game doesn’t look the best video poker title on the net, and to be fair it's gameplay is rather standard, too. This is a Jacks or Better game we’re talking about, so elementary should be the order of the day, really.
