About Blackjack

Blackjack is one of Play ‘n Go’s simpler table games. Most people will already be familiar with the game, and how it works. If you aren’t, it only takes a few moments to become acquainted with it. Blackjack allows players to wager on a single hand only. Each of the cards has a points value (2-9 are worth their printed values, Faces are worth 10, and Aces either 1 or 11 points), and the player must beat the dealer’s total, without going over 21. If they go over 21, they are bust, and out of the game.

This blackjack games uses chips of 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, 25.00 and 100.00 in value. The means that the minimum bet in Blackjack is just 1.00 per hand, and the maximum bet is fixed at 100.00 per hand.

How to Play Blackjack

The player must first place their bet in the marker. Once they have done this, the cards will be dealt. Only one of the dealer’s cards is showing in Blackjack. With their points total displayed, players can opt to double their bet, hit or stand. If they hit, they will be given another card. If they stand, the player and the dealer’s hand totals are compared and a winner is declared.

Players do have the option of splitting in this game (but only once), and they can also choose to take an Insurance bet, if the dealer has an Ace showing. An Insurance bet is a side-bet which means that you are basically wagering that the dealer has blackjack, and it pays out at 2:1 if you are correct. You can double down on any two cards.

In this blackjack game, the dealer must stand on 17, and draw to a total of 16. Blackjack pays at 3:2, whilst standard wins pay out at a rate of 1:1.

Final Thoughts

This is the quintessential blackjack table game for beginners. It introduces the splitting and doubling down rules nicely, you can get away with moderately small wagers, and it offers fair pay-outs.

On the graphics side, Play ‘n Go’s Blackjack game doesn’t really do anything that other blackjack games haven’t. It does provide you with quality graphics, but that has come to be standard for these kinds of games.

Blackjack will be just the ticket for any player who has never played the game before, and it doesn’t take any longer than a few minutes before you’ve got the hang of it.
