About Royal Mint: MegaWays

As the originators of the MegaWays slot engine, Big Time Gaming is now one of the most well-known software providers around. Just because BTG have leased out their MegaWays engine to other slot developers doesn’t mean that they have stopped producing top MegaWays slots. Royal Mint: MegaWays is a fine example of that. This game is loosely based on the royal jewels and golden coins, as its title suggests. The slot features the usual 6-reel MegaWays system, so as many as 117,649 paylines can randomly appear on each spin. As with many MegaWays slots, this one is a highly volatile game, but a cheap one, which costs between 0.10 and 20.00 a spin. Non-progressive jackpot prizes are worth up to 50,000 coins in this game, which is also a mobile-friendly release.

Special Features

You’re probably familiar with the MegaWays engine. If not, it is quite easy to explain. There are 6 reels on each spin, as many as 117,649 paylines can become available at random. Following any win, the symbols which starred int hat win are removed from the reels, and new ones drop down from above. This will keep occurring until no new wins are formed. Players are guaranteed to get at least 324 paylines on each spin.

As well as the cascading reels system which appears in this MegaWays slot, there are also gem-encrusted wilds which can boost your chances of success. A free spin bonus also springs up in this game, and you’ll need at least four of these scatters to trigger the bonus round.

Bonus Feature

Once the free spin round begins, players will start with anything from 12 up to 20 free spins, depending on how many scatters they located. During this free spin bonus, players will find that the cascading reels system comes into its own. This time should players land wins with the collapsing reels system, they will pocket a multiplier on those wins. Moreover, this multiplier is not capped, so it can rise to huge values. On top of that, the multiplier does not drop back to zero when players lose. In theory, anything you win in this round will be multiplied, and some considerable prizes can be won.

An enhanced version of this bonus (known as the Heartstopper Round) is triggered when players collect 40 gold bars. They are awarded a gold bar for every three scatters they land. This feature is like the free spin bonus, although the multiplier starts off at 2x and rises by 2x each time, instead of the default 1x in the free spin bonus.
