About Diamonds of Athens

This Video Slot from developer IGT, is based on a classic Grecian theme, and features something we have rarely seen. There is six reels in this game, and fifty pay-lines over which to place bets. There is a whole host of ways in which to win, but the top in-game prize is 500 coins. We know that this seems like very few coins, but it is in the way that the winning combinations are made up, that determines how much should be paid. We feel this could be a little confusing at first, but avid slots fans should get the hang of it before too long.

Special Features

If classic Greek tales float your boat, then this large video slot might be the one for you to play. It features very nice graphic design and illustrations which animate and gel with the theme of the game. Reels have been set in a temple backdrop, and it has been all very tastefully done.

Symbols features are the Goddess Athena (?), a young male God or Demi-god – possibly Jason, the Minotaur, Cyclops –these are called “Mystery Symbols”. All mystery symbols turn into ordinary symbols which stack at the start of each spin – these icons are a Greek War Helmet, Sword, Axe, Ace King, Queen and Diamond.

All stacked Mystery Symbol positions on a reel will transform into the same icons. This feature is what controls how we win. The Diamonds of Athens logo is the wild icon which substitutes for all other symbols, except the diamond, and this is the scatter icon.

Coin size ranges from 0.01, through a number of variants, all the way up to 10.00. A tenner over fifty lines is going to cost a hefty 500.00, although this might be nice for the high rollers out there, we suggest a different coin size. At least there are plenty to choose from, and coins per line are fixed at one.

Bonus Features

The bonus game is a Free Spins Feature which it triggered by landing the Diamond Icon anywhere. It appears on reels two, three, four, and five, and anything from twelve to sixteen can appear. The more of these icons displayed on the screen, the more free spins are awarded, and the same amounts of frees spins are given away. Different reels are used during the bonus game, where once zero spins remain, the bonus game ends. This feature cannot be re-triggered.
