About All American Video Poker
The Art of Games is a developer of software for online gambling games, and this version of All American video poker comes from their development team. We have reviewed another version of video poker from this developer, and this machine is very similar in the way in which it is designed, which is hardly surprising as these are such similar game.
Special Features
This game is made to look as though it should be standing on a casino floor. It is a 3D sort of representation of how one of these games should appear – much like the old video poker games of the 1970’s. This simple representation offers the same or similar hand rankings as any other game of poker, starting with a top hand of Royal Flush for which 4000 coins can be won when making a maximum bet. Hand rankings descend through Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, and finally Jacks or Better. This means that if a Jack or Better card appears in the deal, the player still wins at least one coin on the minimum bet, and five on a maximum.
Players are able to wager with a coin size they feel comfortable with, as this is not fixed. It starts at 0.05, increasing to 0.10, 0.20, 0.50, and 1.00. Five coins per wager, makes the maximum bet 5.00, which is pretty normal as these games go. Many video poker games automatically hold the best cards for the player, however, this version does not. It is entirely up to the player which cards they wish to hold, so, take care when playing, we once watched a Royal Flush slip entirely through one players fingers when held the wrong cards, and let the right ones go.
Bonus Features
Again, the bonus game is restricted to a gamble feature, and we believe that while sometimes it can be a bonus, other times it may not. This Gamble Feature invites players to select a card that is higher than a face-up card shown by the dealer. There are four face-down cards to choose from, so there are also four chances to win or lose. Make the right choice and the winnings are doubled, and can be doubled again, and again, as long as the cards are in the players’ favour. Make the wrong choice once, and lose it all. Always remember this is a double or nothing game.
