2 Ways Royal Video Poker Review

About 2 Ways Royal Video Poker

Sometimes when you create a new video game, you can make up new rules. That's exactly what Playtech Software has done with their game, “2 Ways Royal Video Poker.” You probably thought there was only one type of Royal Flush possible in a poker hand. But in this version of the game, there are two and both pay off the same.

In 2 Ways Royal, there is the standard “Hi” Royal Flush made up of the five highest cards in the deck-the 10 through Ace-all of the same suit. But there is also what they call the “Lo“ Royal Flush which is made up of an Ace through five of the same suit. Both of these hands pay the same-4,000 coins when you play the maximum.

It should be noted that this type of reward is long overdue to players. The fact is that a Flush from Ace through five is just as hard to get as one from Ten through Ace. It's just never paid as well in a video poker game.

The setting does evoke an image of royalty and majesty with its fancy designs in blue, gold and red. In this royal setting, everything you need or need to know, from the size of your bet to the pay menu, are all easy to see and use.

Other than the special payoff, the rules of 2 Ways Royal Video Poker are basically the same as other video poker games.

To compensate for the extra jackpot in this game, some of the lower payouts are not as high as you would expect on a Jacks or Better machine. A Full House, for example, only pays back six coins, not the normal nine.

But in addition to the big payoff for the extra Royal Flush, there is also a much more generous return given for four-of-a-kind. Instead of the standard return of 25 coins for each one wagered, the return in 2 Ways Royal is 40 coins when you get four-of-a-kind. The best strategy for success in this game, therefore, is to go for the special payoffs whenever you have the opportunity.

Special Features

Like most video poker games, the maximum return for a Royal Flush is only offered when you play the maximum coins. In 2 Ways Royal Flush, this is even more important, since, with the creation of a Lo Royal Flush, there is an extra opportunity to collect on the huge payoff.
