About Reel Gems

Reel Gems is a simple name for any Microgaming developed slot machine game. Perhaps the reason for that is because Reel Gems is a really simple slot? Reel Gems is played over 5 reels and 243 ways to win, and it also contains a re-spin feature. The graphics certainly aren’t much to write home about in this slot, although it was one of the first Microgaming developed slots to contain the reel re-spin feature. Reel Gems allows players to select coin values which stem from 0.01 up to 0.50. They can also bet up to 10 coins at the same time. Players will be able to wager anything from 0.25 per spin on this 243 ways to win slot, up to 125.00 per spin in total. Players can rack up 120,000 coins whilst winning the non-progressive jackpot on this gemstone themed slot machine game.

Special Features

The only way that players are going to be able to bag that top 120,000-coin prize is by landing the free spins bonus feature. This is triggered by pocketing 3, 4 or 5 of the free spin symbols on the reels of the game, and landing 5 scatters in any position on the screen during a single free spin. The base game’s non-progressive prize is capped at 40,000 coins.

Scatter icons appear as golden free spin rings, and players can net 1x, 2x, 10x, or even 100x their total bet for landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 such symbols in any position on the reels during the base game. Remember, three or more will trigger the free games feature, too.

The main feature in this slot is actually the re-spin feature. After any spin, players can choose to re-spin a reel at a cost. Doing so will see them potentially able to land a winning combination on the reels. Keep in mind that every single time you use the re-spin feature in succession, the price of doing so will rise.

Bonus Feature

Players will start the free spins bonus round in the Reel Gems slot with a total of 15 free games. During this bonus round, any cash prizes that happen to be won by the player can be tripled courtesy of a 3x multiplier. The free spins bonus round can be retriggered by landing 3 or more scatters on the reels during this bonus.
