About Gung Pow

Gung Pow is Microgaming’s latest video slot, having first appeared in 2015. This slot is based on Chinese New Year, so its launch date was rather well timed. Gung Pow is an animated slot, with some creative graphics on the reels. Played over 5 reels and with a total of 243 ways to win, the Gung Pow game features non-adjustable paylines, though coin values can range from 0.01 up to 1.00 in total, and players can wager anything from 1 to 10 of those per spin. This new video slot comes complete with minimum and maximum wager limits of 0.25 per spin, and 250.00 per spin, respectively. For your efforts, you can win up to 90,000 coins in this game.

Special Features

Gung Pow does have a scatter icon, and that icon is a coin. When this scatter symbols is located twice or more in any positions upon the reels, the player will acquire scattered winnings of 1x, 2x, 10x or 100x their total bet, for 2, 3, 4 or 5 respective scatters. But, should they land 3 or more of them, they’ll bag a free spins bonus.

This video slot uses its own logo as its wild symbol. Wilds can substitute for all other icons in the game, barring the scatter icon. Unfortunately, wilds do only appear on the second and fourth reels, so players are going to have to hope that Lady Luck plays her part, to pocket a truly big payline in this game. Gung Pow – it would seem – is also a high variance video slot.

Bonus Feature

Aside from the free spins bonus round, there doesn’t really seem to be much in the way of special features in this slot. That is somewhat unusual for a Microgaming title, especially one of their first ones released this year. One might have rightly expected a randomly triggered feature, of some sort or another, and yet none appear.

The free spins game consists of 15 free games, during which all wins are tripled. Gung Pow’s free spins bonus is good in that it not only offers multipliers, but it can also be retriggered, simply by landing additional scatters upon the reels. There is a gamble game that has been included into the Gung Pow video slot, though that is hardly anything to write home about. You don’t actually have that good a chance of winning via it, either.
