About Alley Cats

Arguably one of the oldest Microgaming slots in existence, Alley Cats is a 5-reel, 9-line, animal-themed release. It dates from the era when video slots were just beginning to make their mark in the online casino world, and it shows. The slot allows for total control over your stakes, with coin values dipping as low as 0.01 in this game. Coin values can rise to 0.25, and up to twenty can be wagered per line. Therefore, maximum stakes cannot hit above 45.00 a spin in the slot release. Alley Cats carries an old-school non-progressive jackpot that is worth around 10,000 coins, or $50,000 in real money. While it may be dated compared to modern video slots, there is still an exciting retro-style gaming experience to be had with the Alley Cats slot.

Special Features

There really is not much in the way of special features in the old-school slot game. Even wild symbols are not included in the release. However, while wilds may be off the table, there are scatter icons, and these can deliver one of two features. Landing at least three of them to snap up either a click and win bonus feature or a free spin round. Which you get is in the hands of the gods.

It is also worth pointing out that to get your hands on the non-progressive jackpot of 10,000 coins, you are going to need to land five of the game’s title logos on a line. Failing that, you can still win a secondary prize worth half of that if you manage to acquire five Star Cat symbols on a line.

Bonus Feature

As touched on, there are just two special features in Alley Cats and which one you get depends entirely on luck. Landing three to five scatters will give you a crack at either. The click and win game is straightforward enough. It provides six icons on the screen, and you will try to lob a ball at them. You can only select three targets, and each one you hit will deliver an instant win prize in relation to the stake you have wagered in the base game. By contrast, Alley Cat’s free spin bonus offers 20 free games. During those spins, any wins you happen to snap up on the reels will be doubled courtesy of a 2x multiplier.
