About African Quest

African Quest is one of many games which debuted in January 2020 as a joint-effort between Microgaming and a smaller-scale software developer. The fledgeling slot provider in question this time is Triple Edge Studios. Together, these providers have come up with an African-themed slot which not only captures the essence of African wilderness and nature but also serves up a non-progressive prize worth as much as 5,600x a bet. The slot itself is played over 5 reels and 1,024 paylines, and there are similarities between this and the Raging Rhino slot. A spin on the game will cost at least 0.10, but no more than 15.00 a turn. As mentioned, there is a cracking non-progressive jackpot up for grabs, and the slot has a more than fair RTP rate of 96.52%. Despite that, African Quest is a highly volatile release.

Special Features

African Quest has a somewhat baffling feature for players to take advantage of. It is known as the Paid Re-Spin mode. This has been seen in other slots before, and it hasn’t gone down too well for the most part with players. Players can choose to select any of the reels in the game following a spin and re-spin it. The other reels will remain frozen, potentially allowing players to use their frozen reels to bag a win. Unfortunately, this costs quite a bit of cash to use. The price it costs depends on how likely you are to land a win and what possible combination you’re aiming for. Missing just a single symbol to form a top-paying (lion) five-of-a-kind combo will naturally cost you quite a bit.

Players will also note that wild symbols do appear, but only on the second, third and fourth reels of the game. They can substitute for all save for scatters.

Those scatters are necessary if you wish to trigger the free spin bonus round. They appear as maps of Africa, and three or more are required to activate that bonus feature.

Bonus Feature

With three or more scatters, you will get to enjoy a free spin bonus, and pocket wins worth up to 20x a bet. Players can select from several different free spin options. The options you get depends on how many scatters you activated the round with. It is possible to play with as many as 40 spins and a 2x multiplier or play with just a handful of spins and a juicy 4x multiplier.
