BONUS POKER

About Bonus Poker – Video Poker

There are a number of versions of Bonus Poker available to video poker fans. This particular version is found under the Betsoft brand, and is a more traditional “Jacks or Better” version.  Once again there is an obvious clue to playing this poker machine in its name, so, there is something about it that offers bonus play.

Special Features

Graphic rendering is pretty cool, as it is quite retro. Retro is the new big IN Thing, so, if the old-fashioned video poker game in the Jacks or Better format is what floats your boat, then you could be onto a good thing. This game makes use of traditional poker hand rankings which means a Natural Royal Flush is the top paying hand. Land one of these with a top wager of five coins, and win 4000 coins for your efforts.

The next hand in line is four Aces for a prize of 400 coins, and we have seen bigger top prizes for this hand in higher paying video poker machines. Take Bonus Deuces for example, where a much larger prize can be won for the same hand plus a bonus deuce, and for exactly the same wager. This is why it is so important to study the pay-tables of similar games.  After that comes Straight Flush, four – two, three or four, four fives through King, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, then Jacks or Better. In other words if there is only one pair in the hand, this pair has to be Jack, Queens, Kings or Aces.

A nice betting range makes this game possible for all kinds of players with all kinds of budgets, and can be low-rolled at 0.02, with only one coin. Of course to win the most credits, at least five coins per game must be played, and we suggest using a lower coin value, at more coins per line. Coin values as we said start at 0.02, increasing up to 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, with a top wager of 1.00 at five coins, making a maximum bet of 5.00.

Bonus Feature

As this game is called “Bonus” Poker we can probably assume that the bonus game is the game of Double or Quits on offer. This triggers for every single win, and as we like to play with strategy, we never take a chance of Double or Quits on a large win. If we win ten coins and below, we will take the risk of doubling our money or losing it all, but you will figure out your own strategies for this bonus game as you play.
