21 Burn Blackjack Review
About 21 Burn Blackjack
Betsoft Gaming has created a version of Blackjack that adds a great deal of strategy to the game as well as offering a much wider selection of possible payoffs. “21 Burn Blackjack” has the same basic rules as a regular Blackjack game, but there are ways of building your hand in this game that are unique.
The game is called 21 Burn because the player has a burn card dealt to him with each hand. In addition to the standard first two cards, he also receives another card face down. This card, the burn card, can be turned over if the player thinks it will improve his hand.
Features
The burn card can only be used by the player to replace the second card he has received. If the player wants to use it, he must increase his wager by 50%. In addition to whatever effect the burn card has on his hand, the player also receives some extra action for this extra money. He will get 2-1 on his extra bet if the burn card is an Ace. He'll get 7-1 if it is the Ace of Spades. But if it's not an Ace, he loses his extra wager.
Object
If you're going to play 21 Burn Blackjack, you need to make your money in the feature of the game that pays the best, the extra burn card bet. Some of the standard ways to win at the game are of less use in this version.
If you get 21 on your first two cards-a blackjack-you'll only get even money in this variation, not the normal 3-2 payoff. Also note that the dealer hits on a soft 17, which usually helps him improve his hand.
In 21 Burn Blackjack, waiting for the dealer to get 17 or less is less likely to succeed and waiting for a blackjack will simply not be rewarded as it would be in a game with the standard rules and payoffs.
Special Features
Most of the special features that are in a regular game of Blackjack are also a part of 21 Burn Blackjack. You can still get insurance when the dealer shows an Ace and you will get 2-1 on your money if the insurance bet wins. Players can also double down on any of their first two cards. They can also split matching cards, but can only split once.
An additional feature of 21 Burn Blackjack is the availabiity of multi-hands. A player can play as many as three hands each time the cards are dealt.
