About Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal, and it has become the sole focus of this old and legendary Microgaming developed slot machine game. Kathmandu is certainly dated, but there is still a sense of excitement to had from this Microgaming developed game. Kathmandu features wonderful graphics which include elephants, maps, temples, and the Himalayan landscape itself, all present on a 5-reel and 9-line gaming structure. Kathmandu allows players to select coin sizes which range from 0.01 up to 0.25, and players can bet as many as 20 coins of those coins per line, with all 9 lines adjustable. Expect to be able to wager anything from 0.01 per line per spin, up to a more extravagant 45.00 per spin on this tourism themed slot. As for winnings, they can rise as high as 6,000 coins if you are able to land 5 of the wild symbols on any active payline.

Special Features

In the base game, the wild symbol appears as a golden rattle and landing 5 of these on a payline will see you win the top prize. However, in the base game, wilds can also substitute for all other symbols in the slot except for scatter icons.

Those scatter icons can appear as temple symbols, and when players locate 2, 3, 4 or 5 of them anywhere on the reels, they will trigger a free spins bonus round. Players will also pocket 1x, 3x, 25x, or even 100x their total bet for each respective scatter they pocket on the reels of the slot.

A gamble feature has been worked into this slot’s design, just as you would expect to find in most other primitive Microgaming slots. After any winning spin players can activate it, and they will have a chance to double or even quadruple their winnings.

Bonus Feature

Scattered bell symbols will trigger a total of 15 free spins if 3 or more appear anywhere on the reels. During the free spins bonus round, players can pocket multipliers on their winnings, and these can rise as high as 5x the normal rate of pay. During the free spins bonus round, the traditional wild remains a substitute symbol, but a second substitute symbols also comes into play. The great temple symbol can replace all other icons barring scatters and it can offer you added wins of 4x, 25x, 100x or 750x your total bet when 2, 3, 4 or 5 appear on a line.
