DERBY DOLLARS

About Derby Dollars

Derby Dollars is one of Realtime Gaming’s more successful slot machines. This RTG developed game focuses on horse racing, in particular, what appears to be the Kentucky Derby, one of America’s most famous horse racing competitions. The game is played over a very simplistic 5-reel, 20-line gaming platform, and players can adjust both the lines and the value of their coins in this game. Expect to be able to wager anything from a base minimum of just 0.01 per line per spin on this nag-themed slot. However, if you wish to push the boat out, you can have a punt on stakes worth as much as 10.00 a game. That’s not a bad return, though, since you do end up competing to win a random progressive jackpot which can often be worth tens of thousands of coins in your favoured currency.

Special Features

Derby Dollars’ wild symbols are present nicely drawn. These running horse symbols can show up and substitute for any other icons in the game, save for scatters. You will notice that they are also the best-paying symbols in the slot. Landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 such symbols on any active payline will see players able to scoop wins worth 2, 10, 200, 1,000 or even 3,333 coins.

Scatter symbols take the shape of golden coins, and these symbols can multiply your total bet when they appear. It is not impossible to land scattered cash prizes worth 1x, 3x, 15x or 50x your total bet when 2, 3, 4 or 5 of these appear in any position on the screen.

As for the progressive jackpot, if you wish to win that, you will need to wager, that is all. The progressive jackpot is awarded at random, although you stand a better chance with bigger bets than with smaller ones.

Bonus Feature

Derby Dollars’ free spins bonus round can only be triggered when players land 2 or more scatters on the reels. They will start the free spins bonus feature with between 5 and 25 free spins based on how many scatters they locate. During the bonus round, any prizes you happen to pocket will instantly be tripled courtesy of a 3x multiplier. During the bonus round, horse (wild) and coin (scatter) symbols appear more frequently on the reels of the slot, whilst the feature can be retriggered by landing more scatters on the reels.
