About Black Forest

Spearhead’s Black Forest is not a game you are going to come across very often. Only a handful of casinos carry it, but if you can find one that does, it is well worth a look, especially as Black Forest has a top prize worth up to 5,000x your bet (or 15,000 coins). Despite sounding like it is themed on Germany or dessert gateaux, this Spearhead slot is based on creatures from mythology and the world of fantasy. Black Forest only has nine paylines to offer, and they are all fixed into place on the slot’s five reels. Wagers are as cheap as chips in the Black Forest slot, with Spearhead’s game commanding bets ranging from a floor of 0.09 up to a ceiling of 90.00 a pop. For your efforts, you can compete to win a non-progressive jackpot which is worth a maximum of 5,000x a bet, as mentioned. To land that sort of prize, you’ll need five wilds on a line.

Special Features

Wild symbols (aside from delivering top prizes) can also replace all standard paying symbols, but not other special icons. These tree-men symbols are commonplace enough to be of use for most players trying their hand at Black Forest.

The Spearhead slot’s scatter is a sun and moon-style image. Landing it two to five times anywhere on the reels will see you pocket scattered cash prizes. These can range from 1x your bet (your money back) up to 150x a stake.

While there are a few gamble modes you can play within this game, none of them is particularly exciting, so let’s jump straight to the bonus features in the slot.

Bonus Feature

Just two sun/moon scatters is enough to trigger a Call of the Hunter bonus in the base game, and the round happens on every free spin. It involves seeing between two and five wilds replacing symbols at random.

That free spin round is triggered with 3, 4 or 5 scatters, and you’ll get 5, 8 or 12 free games here. You can add additional spins to your tally, with 3, 7 or 12 extra spins afforded to players who land 3, 4 or 5 further scatters.

The free spin bonus is the only way you can trigger the Lord of the Forest round. Once the Call of Hunter round has finished, if you’ve got one of the Lord of the Forest symbols on the reels, this bonus will kick into gear. It will see the symbol expand on any reels it appears to boost your chances of success.
