About Birthday
ELK Studios’ Birthday slot does exactly what it says on the tin. The game was developed to celebrate one of the software provider’s anniversaries, and you can find a host of ELK’s most notable slot characters in the game, including the bull from Wild Toro, amongst others. Like some other ELK Studios’ slots, Birthday allows you to adjust your “betting strategy”, which alters the volatility in the game. Stakes will range from 0.10 up to 50.00 depending on how you wish to bet, and each strategy will automatically “adjust” your stake based on whether you are winning or losing, in line with your preferences. The Birthday slot itself is played over five reels, offers 178 ways to win, and offers a potential top non-progressive jackpot worth 250,000 credits. That’s not shabby at all, considering that stakes are cheap and affordable in the Birthday slot.
Special Features
Look for the birthday cake in this ELK Studios developed slot. This is Birthday’s wild, and it substitutes for all other symbols without exception.
There are five types of bonus rounds in this game, known as Happy Spins, and these are triggered at random, each by a character from a much-loved ELK Studios’ slot. Once you hear the doorbell go, you know that you’re in for a real treat. If Camel turns up, he’ll give you re-spins until you win three or five times. If Mr Lake is at the door, you can spin the reels until you land a five-of-a-kind combo. Should Electric Sam turn up, you’re going to get re-spins with sticky symbols until a preselected symbol or combo appears. The Matador can offer you re-spins until you land a win with a selected symbol, while Anne Bony (from Wild Seas) offers you re-spins until you land a big win (15x your bet or higher).
There are also free spin goodies to be had in the Birthday slot, so let’s look at those next…
Bonus Feature
To land free spins, Maggie (from Electric Sam and Sam on the Beach) must appear at the door, again at random. Now, you’ll get ten free games. She could potentially re-trigger those spins, too. There are two extra wilds in this feature. The first of these is a sticky wild. Soundtech may turn up and place up to three on the reels, and they’ll last for the duration of the round. If Soundtech Blooper pops up, you’ll get three walking wilds that can move one reel to the left on each spin. While it is rare, it is not impossible that these two special wilds might show up during the Happy Spins re-spins rounds, too. Don’t bank on that happening, though.
