About Psycho Slot
The film Psycho from Universal Pictures was first made in 1960, it was then re-made in 1998. This Alfred Hitchcock directed film starring Anthony Perkins back in the day, and became the scariest psychological thriller of its time. NexGen Gaming have obtained the license for this brand and turned it into a video slot game that offers five frightening reels, twenty-five pay-lines, a top in-game jackpot prize of 2500 coins, and lots of other ways to win too.
Special Features
Welcome to the Bates Motel – despite the fact that the Sign read “No Vacancies” there are plenty of rooms at the inn, as well as plenty of ways to win. This slot opens to a nightmarish silhouette of the Bates Motel, at night, during a thunder storm. This scene does not go away but forms the backdrop where five reels are set. Graphics are both retro and good – albeit it illustrated. An ambient soundtrack provides in-theme scary music and sounds.
Icons are the young girl who features in this first of the slasher- genre film, the detective, Bates peering through a keyhole and, the key for room no: 1. Card indices Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine are all used and are illustrated in true Psycho style. The wild is portrayed simply by the words “WILD”, and substitute for all other icons except for the scatter.
The scatter is the scary silhouette of the motel atop a hill, and multiplies by the size of the wager made. Reels quite aptly appear to spins superimposed on a white shower curtain. It is the shower scene that is one of the films’ biggest claims to fame.
Betting takes place as in all NextGen games across a fixed amount of pay-lines, with a coin range which starts at 0.01. The default amount is 0.10 which makes for a decent sized wager for low rollers of 2.50 as pop. This coin size can increase up to 2.00 for a maximum wager of 50.00.
Bonus Features
The bonus game is activated when three, four or five scatter symbols appear respectively on the reels. Ten, fifteen or twenty free spins are given away, and during this time more wilds also appear on the reels. This affords the player more opportunities to land winning combinations, but not only that, wild multipliers increase every time, moving up through a multiple of two, four, six, eight, ten, twenty or forty.
