Special Features
This slot is all pastels, and gold icons rendered in a Mayan type of graphic design. Icons used are traditional card indices through Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten, and these are low paying symbols. Higher paying symbols are a gold Mayan mask with a ruby eye which is the highest paying symbol;a blue and gold Mayan mask with sapphire eyes, a sort of face decorated by a green square and purple circle, and a piece of jewelry we think.
There is not really a great deal to look at which means less entertainment value, although some gamers do like to keep things simple. But what little icons are used, are nicely illustrated, and ambient sounds are pretty good too.
What gives this game its name however, is a special mystery symbol icon that is a gold coin which spins on the reels to reveal other ordinary icons in the game. Whether this offers more winning opportunities of not is hard to say. As it spins to reveal ma symbol at random, all it ever reveal for us was low paying icons which did not help much with winning. In fact we had to play with a great many demo coins to even land small wins.
Players are not able to change the amount of pay-lines they want in play, this is fixed, but there is a wide coin range to choose from. This stars off at just 0.10p, and increases through 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, and then up to 1.00. After that players have a choice of coin size up to 100.00. Auto-play is also on offer for five, ten or fifteen spins.
Bonus Features
There are no bonus games or features in Mayan Magic, and this reviewer did not find this fact all that disappointing, because our impression is that it is a completely disappointing slot. It did not give wins up easily, offers a low 92.1% return to player rate, and completely failed to impress.
