About Masques of San Marco

Masques of San Marco is set in Venice with the backdrop of historic buildings and bridges surrounding a canal highlighted by the bright lights of what could be the Piazza San Marco mask festival, a yearly event celebrated in St. Marks Square.

The playing screen is a 6 x 6 grid divided horizontally in the middle to essentially create two five-reel slots sitting above one another. Each half contains 20 pay lines each to hold a magnificent 40 in total and the game contains pictures of festival masks, suns and moons.

Special Features

International Game Technology touts this dualPlay slots games.

It is basically a cascading feature that looks similar to casual match three in a row games like Bejeweled, only here it takes place when the symbols on any pay line will play a little animation and disappear in a brief fireworks burst. The symbols above them will cascade down below and possibly filling more win lines in the process with new icons filling up space from the top. These combos can have really long run if luck is on your side and adds additional profit without any extra involvement.

The further down the screen this happens the better as the opportunities of both sets of pay lines present themselves.

Bonus Feature

Keep an eye out for the Bonus marked carnival mask, but it shouldn’t be too hard to miss as it only appears in reels one, two and three. When three of them appear anywhere along the columns then it’s really time to celebrate as the masks light up and a joker’s mask whirls into view. A silver gilded frame announces that six free spins are about to begin and the screens flashes back to the game where the dividing line melts away to unlock both halves of the screen. Twenty more pay lines are added to create a whopping 60 pay line extravaganza coupled with additional wilds to really get this festival started.

Once again the cascading feature is present so you chances of hitting one of those may win lines is much greater. To keep this waterfall going by hitting additional Bonus signs to rush up to 300 free spins via re-triggers. Although the bonus gained will be around the 30x to 50x of the initial spin cost, this can still be quite fun to watch.

All that glitters is not gold for the free spin feature happens more rarely than we’d like, and the pay-outs can be quite mediocre as well.
