About Illuminous
Illuminous is a really simple video slot, and one which doesn’t really much of a theme to boast about. The slot features a handful of gemstones, and high playing card symbols on its reels, with the bonus icons being the only real symbols which stand out. Illuminous is therefore not the best slot, at least visually. From a gameplay perspective it isn’t much better either. There are just 20 paylines sitting on the 5 reels of this game, with players required to wager anything from a low of 0.40 per spin, up to 80.00 per spin. Those are rather costly betting ranges for a slot which doesn’t offer you very much back in return. This is not Quickspin’s finest release, and the slot only has a non-progressive jackpot worth a total of 500 coins.
Special Features
Illuminous does have wild icons, and they can replace all other icons save for scatters. They are the best paying symbols in the game (along with the bonus wild scatters) but that is about all you can say about the wilds in this game.
The bonus wild scatter icons are the icing on the cake (if you could say such a thing). They can offer you a Hot Reel re-spin for 2 appearing anywhere on the reels, or they can trigger a Hot Reel free spins bonus for 3 such symbols appearing on the screen in any positions. Those two special features are the only ones you are going to get in this game, and they are where you can win the vast majority of your cash.
Bonus Feature
The first of these two bonuses is the Hot Reel re-spin. This bonus allows you to spin the reels just one, with additional wild reels appearing anywhere the bonus icons appeared prior to the start of the bonus. The Hot Reel free spins bonus isn’t actually that different. This bonus game allows you a total of 5 free spins, and wherever a bonus icon appeared prior to the bonus could see you land wild-reels. These could certainly provide you with decent wins, although when compared with the rest of this poor-performing slot, they scarcely make it any more enjoyable to play. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter how many times, or which way you polish Illuminous, it is still a rather dull game, without a theme, no real purpose, a little sense of excitement.
