About Fire and Ice Island

The conclusion of Game of Thrones in 2019 brought with it many Fire and Ice-themed slots. However, unlike the majority of those, which were themed on dragons, Genesis Gaming’s Fire and Ice Island slot is based on Japanese manga. This slot machine is played over 5 reels and features 243 ways to win. The slot is relatively cheap to play, too. Coin values stretch from 0.25 up to 50.00, and only one coin can be wagered per line, meaning that those figures are also this Japanese inspired slot’s wagering range. The RTP (return to player) rate in this release is more than decent, at 97.15%, and the game is regarded as a low variance release, ideal for players on smaller budgets than many. Notably, the Fire and Ice Island slot has a top non-progressive jackpot which is worth 100,000 coins.

Special Features

Players shouldn’t have too much trouble located the wild symbol in this slot. It appears quite literally as word “wild”, and it can substitute for all standard paying icons in this game, although, it is powerless to replace other special symbols.

There are two other special symbols to keep tabs on. Firstly, there is a scatter. It appears as a Yin and Yang symbol and can dish out scattered cash prizes worth double your bet when 3 appear. The second special symbol is the chest icon (known in this game as “the target”).

When the target or chest symbols, it will trigger an Elemental Chest Attack round. Here, players will see a character turn up and open the chest. Inside will be either a Fire Attack (expanding wilds), Energy Attack (all targets replaced with wilds), or Ice Attack (locked wilds and re-spins) mode.

Bonus Feature

Landing scatters on the first, third and fifth reels at once will activate a free spin bonus round in the Fire and Ice Island slot. Once it begins, players are treated to a total of 7 free games. Before they get to play those spins, though, players can select one of the three chests to have those features worked into the bonus round. This will enhance the feature for players and can make it a touch easier to land wins than during the base game. Players can retrigger the free spin round in the Fire and Ice Island slot by landing three or more scatters again.
