Developed by Rabcat, Crystal Rift has been released on Microgaming’s Quickfire platform, and is, in a sense, a futuristic, space mining-themed slot game. The slot features the same impressive graphics we have come to expect from Rabcat, even if the gameplay is a little below par for the developers. Crystal Rift features 5 reels and a 25-line gaming platform. Wagers aren’t as flexible as you might like to see, with a simple bet button allowing you to choose bets that stem from a floor of 0.25 per spin (with the coin value set to 0.01) up to 50.00 a spin, based on a 2.00 coin value. Players will also note that there is a non-progressive jackpot which is worth around 2,000 coins to be won in this game. It is yours if you can land 5 of the silver diamond or orange crystal symbols on a payline in the game.
The same silver crystal symbol which can deliver you a non-progressive jackpot prize also appears as a wild symbol in the Crystal Rift slot. The icon can complete a winning combination by substituting for any other symbols in the game without exception.
Players will also notice that Crystal Rift contains a Bonus Falls feature. Following any win in the game, the winning symbols will be removed from the reels, and new ones will drop down to their place from above the reels. This can lead to players being able to bag multiple wins on a single spin in this slot machine game.
The only other special feature in the Crystal Rift slot is the Wild Grid bonus. At the beginning of any spin, a Wild Grid may be randomly chosen. An indicator covers the area where the grid is. After three successive wins on the bounce with the Bonus Fall feature, the grid becomes active, and any symbol which appears within it will become a wild icon for the next bonus fall. As long as you keep winning, this feature keeps going.
Crystal Rift can dish out some decent enough wins, although the game does lack a bit in excitement. It is a touch below what we would expect to see from Rabcat, but if you like simple and fair paying slots, Crystal Rift may still be worth a look.
