About Birds
Birds is another video slot which has been released at a rather clever time. Birds has been unveiled just in time for the summer release of the Angry Birds movie. There is no direct connection between the slot and the franchise, though, just some rather comical looking birds. Birds has been designed and developed by BetSoft Gaming, and as ever, this title features BetSoft’s absolutely stunning 3D graphics. Birds doesn’t feature paylines, and instead players are required to land flocks of birds by connecting them across the 5 reels of the slot. Coin denominations stem from 0.02 up to 1.00, and players can bet as many as 5 of these per line. Players are going to be looking at minimum and maximum wagers of 0.25 per spin, and12.50 per spin on this slot, so it really isn’t expensive at all. Birds is equipped with a non-progressive jackpot.
Special Features
The main feature in the Birds slot is the Free Flights Feature. Every time the player lands a flight of birds (a winning combination), they will take off and fly onto the Free Flights Meter to the left of the reels. When the meter reaches 4, 5 or 6 flights, players will land a total of 8, 12, or 20 free spins. In this bonus, free spins are also known as flights. Land 7 or more additional flights and you will bag an extra 14 free spins plus the number of triggering flights.
The only other special feature in Birds is a wild icon. That symbol is represented by a very colourful bird. This rainbow coloured bird can substitute for all other symbols in the game, without exception.
Bonus Feature
The only other feature in the Birds slot is a gamble feature. After any winning spin, the player may choose to activate this feature by clicking on the gamble button. Once they do, they can choose to bet either all or 50% of their winnings. They will place their bet on the flip of a coin, with either heads of tails the options. If the player guesses correctly, then they will double their winnings. If they should guess incorrectly, then they will lose their gambling winnings. Players can use the collect button to end the feature at any time, or they can continue to double up their winnings if they wish with this gamble feature. Personally, with only a 50% chance of success, we’d give this gamble feature a miss.
