Alchemy was a popular practice in the middle ages. One of the biggest pursuits of alchemists of the time was a quest for the elusive philosopher's stone which was believed to have many magical properties - one of which was the ability to turn base metals to gold. As you can probably tell, the philosopher's stone proved to be a fantasy without substance.

The lowest value grid consists of symbols of the usual playing card symbols of A, K, Q and J while the high value grid consists of symbols of symbols that resonate with the theme of the game such as a quartet of classical elements favoured by medieval alchemists (fire, water, earth and wind).
to win a prize in the game, you will need to land a matching combination of symbols on the reels. The value of a matching combination depends on the value of the symbols involved in the combo. Playing card symbols will reward you with anywhere from 10x to 15x the value of your stake for a matching combination of five while symbols of fire, water, earth and wind will reward you with anywhere from 25x to 40x the value of your stake for a matching combination of five.
Then there are potion symbols which will reward you with 10x for a matching combination of three and 25x for a combination of four. A matching combination of five will reward you with 50x the value of your stake.
The game also incorporates a special symbol known as the mystery symbol. The mystery symbol is a special symbol represented by an emblem with a golden nucleus. The mystery symbol is the key to activating the mystery symbol feature of the game. During the feature, the symbol takes on the role of the wild replacing other regular symbols to land winning combinations in the game.
