About Windy Farm
Rival Gaming have taken common and animal theme and added unique idea to the mix. Called Windy Farm, the stage is set on a common-looking American farm. The background is formed with the giant red doors of a barn and a couple of weathervanes to each side of the reels.
The wind here seems to be a problem for the animals but we’ll discuss that later.
This is a 5 reel game that houses 50 pay lines that can be adjusted in incrementals of five. The coin values can be set from 1c right up to 25c and the number of coins you can place per line can range from one to 10. This means that the smallest bet you can make is $.50 and the biggest bet you can make is $125.
The animations are short and crisp but are let down by the extremely comical looks. The music is grand and cheery to listen to over extended periods of time. What will grate your nerves however is the squeaking of the weathervanes when they start to spin and this is dependent on how often the wind is blowing.
The characters that make up this game are the standard playing card values from 10 all the way up to Ace. There are only three animals here being a horse, goat and a pig. The middle range paying symbols are strangely a watering can and a wheelbarrow. Highest two values are a post-box and a horse shoe.
This has a slightly below average RTP of 95.7%.
Special Features
It is quite common for games like these to include a wild symbol which acts as a substitute for other icons and here the chicken does the job. In a bit of a twist, and relating to the game’s namesake, the wild is also affected by the blowing of the wind. If a gale is howling then the weathervanes will be spinning around and it will cause the wild to expand upwards. If all is quiet then the weathervanes will be at rest, meaning the wild will expand downwards.
The game could have been made more exciting if the wilds could have been made more exciting if the wilds expanded to the left and right as well.
Bonus Feature
There is an angry bull scatter symbol which just needs to appear three times anywhere on screen in order to unlock seven free spins. Costing you nothing, whatever you gain you get to keep. Rather disappointingly is that there are no multipliers added in, so holding thumbs for this feature won’t really get you excited.
