About Goooal

As soon as one opens up the Goooal video slot, they are greeted by a screen which allows them to choose their coin values. This pre-emptive decision is a little on the cheeky side by Amaya Gaming, and features 0.10, 0.25, and 1.00 coin values. This inability to adjust your coin values in the game itself is a real drawback to a slot which initially looked exciting. Goooal is not your run-of-the-mill football themed video slot, being played over 5 reels and 3 lines. Players can stake up to 3 coins per line, which means that on the maximum stake, you’re looking at 15.00 a spin for your wager. Minimum bets therefore cost 0.10 per line, per spin, which is rather costly given what you get in return. Expect to be able to play this slot and hope to win a non-progressive jackpot which is worth around 60 coins in all.

Special Features

Goooal may have looked exciting at the start, but you will soon find that there are virtually no special features in this slot. You can select to be either the red or blue team in this game, and that will determine your “side” for the match. Once you start spinning the reels, you will be aiming to match at least 3 identical icons on a payline to win a prize.

Each winning spin guarantees a goal to either the red or blue sides, depending on the colour of the winning symbols. The side-game is based on three goals in total. The reason you pick a team’s colour is because it is your secondary objective to win a match. Match results either end 1-2, 3-0, or 2-1.

Bonus Feature

Each game is also based on halves. For instance, there is a first half, and a second half when you spin the reels. Players can pocket a bonus play prize if they score 3 goals in the second half. They will also pocket a special prize if they win the football match in general.

One can see what Amaya Gaming were going for in this slot, and it also makes sense why the values of the coins need to be decided before the reels start to spin (otherwise you would alter the amount you can win via the bonuses). Even so, Amaya Gaming may have had the right idea, but they executed it poorly with this slot, and many football slot lovers will find Goooal too complex to enjoy.
