About Book of Ra

Unlike its predecessor (which came 3 years after the 2005 launch of this game) the original Book of Ra slot doesn’t feature 10 paylines, but just 9 of them. It also has far simpler graphics, but makes you understand why Novomatic decided to create Book of Ra: Deluxe. However, the basic gameplay in the original Book of Ra slot is much along the same lines as its predecessor. The game’s lines can be altered as you see fit, so you can wager anything from 0.01 per line per spin up to $90 per spin. The non-progressive jackpot is about the same, with the RTP (return to player) rate a more than impressive 96.99%.

Special Features

This slot doesn’t contain too many special features, but those it does have offer up some decent wins. First and foremost, there is the titular Book of Ra, a remnant from the Ancient Egyptian civilisation and the object of the slot’s intrepid explorer’s desires. This wild symbol is also a scatter icon. Scatter wilds can substitute for all other symbols in the game, and players need to land at least 3 of them on the reels to trigger the slot’s singular bonus round. Scatter wilds count no matter where they appear on the reels of this game.

A gamble feature has been included in the Book of Ra slot and can be triggered following any winning spin. When you decide to trigger it, players can choose a red or black card to double their winnings if they predict the next card in the sequence successfully.

Bonus Feature

Once a player has acquired 3 or more of the scatters wilds in any position on the screen, they will trigger the Book of Ra Bonus. In this feature, players are rewarded with a total of 10 free spins. There’s an added perk, though. One symbol will be chosen at random to act as a special symbol. This special symbol becomes an expanding icon during the feature and can bolster the amount you can win when it does expand to occupy whole reels. The free spins feature can be retriggered by landing more scatter icons on the reels of the game whilst the bonus is in play.
