About Double Bonus Video Poker
Double Bonus Video Poker is a Play ‘N Go electronic game. Play ‘N Go software is becoming more popular, but is a relatively new name to us. They are a Swedish headquartered company, and our experience Swedish developers are generally good at what they do. It features a 4000 coin top prize, and when practicing in demo mode they give players 25 000 coins, which is bordering on extravagantly generous.
Special Features
This is a reliable, good quality version of video poker that works on the premise of paying out for Jacks or Better. This basically means that a hand containing one pair will pay, as long as the card values are Jacks or higher. The following hands are based on traditional poker hands, and in order of ranking are; two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind – between 5’s and Kings, four of a kind – between 2’s and 4’s, four Aces, straight flush, and the top payer – Royal flush. There is no wild card in this game which is actually rather ordinary.
As with all games of video poker, we are able to bet one coin, two, three four or five of varying values. It pays to know that the top prize can only be won when playing with a maximum bet. The maximum bet is five coins x 5.00 which makes it 25.00 coins. A coin size range starts at 0.25, increasing to 0.50, then 1.00, and five. Not a great deal to choose from, but at least the player does get some choice.
Settings include sound, auto adjust bets, fast card animation, never gamble, and auto-hold winning hands. This last setting is a blessing for the neophyte player. There is no auto-play function, which makes this a single-deck, hands on type of game.
Bonus Features
A gamble feature is available to try our luck in doubling winnings. This is triggered whenever a winning hand is made, and offer the player an opportunity to guess whether the next card will be higher than A – 9, or lower than 7 – 2. Unfortunately this reviewer had very little opportunity to find out if this game is infinite, as every time we made the wrong choice. We did not really enjoy playing this game, as we found it much harder to win than when playing with a Deuces Wild version of video poker.
