About Casino Stud Poker

Powered by Play ‘N Go software we find this version of Casino Stud Poker offering players an opportunity to get their poker hands in a row in practice mode, or for real money play. Unlike the classic game of stud poker, when we find the word “Casino” inscribed before a poker games’ name we immediately know that although traditional hand and rules apply, the player does not compete against other players, they compete against the banker or house.

In this game of Casino Stud Poker, it offers a table limit of a low bet of 1.00 up to 100.00 which is the maximum wager that can be made. Chip sizes are 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, 25.00, and 100.00, and a jackpot prize can also be won by placing a small side bet of 1.00.

How to Play

The dealer needs to qualify with an Ace, a King or Higher.  Once the player has placed a bet in the ante space, and click on the deal button, five cards are dealt to both the player and banker. Face up for the player, and one card face-up for the banker, while the other four are face down. It lies with the player to decide if they might have a better hand than the dealer, and if they continue to play, the ante bet is doubled for the call to see the dealers’ cards. They also have an option to fold, and not continue with the game.

Classic poker hand rankings apply, with the highest pay-out of 100 – 1 being paid for a Royal Flush. Obtaining this hand also qualifies the player to win 100% of the jackpot prize. Other hands in descending order are Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair or less. In other words if a high card is in the hand, and the dealer cannot meet this or does not qualify, then the player still wins.

A croupier calls out winning or non-qualifying hands, and when the cards are dealt, it states what hand is available to play. Unlike other games of poker, cards may not be held, and the player has to be content with the first five cards that are dished out. It is a fun way to familiarise one-self with poker hands and the game of stud per se, and we also found it to be relatively simple to grind out wins and stay on top of the game, whilst steadily increasing the size of the bankroll.
