About Baccarat By 888
Sometimes software developers add little tweaks here and there to classic casino games such as Baccarat. It is a simple game to learn to play, and any version can be played once the rules have been learned. 888 has a massive reputation in the online gambling industry for partnering with other casino products, but also for development of their own in-house gambling portfolio.
What is particularly nice about 888 Baccarat is that players may choose their limits even before they begin. As baccarat is a traditionally the domain of the high-roller, there is a high-roller limit available too. The limits are:
- Min 1.00 – Max 100.00
- Min 5.00 – Max 500.00
- Min 10.00 – Max 1000.00
Also before we begin to play, we are able to choose if we would like to play in a classic or digital setting. As we are already familiar with the classic setting, we chose the digital to see what it is like. We quickly found out that we prefer the classic table.
How to Play
The rules of Baccarat are simple and remain the same no matter where we play. Two cards are dealt to both player and banker, and the three card rule applies for low point scores. The aim of the game is to get closer than the banker to the score of 9. Points are counted thus – Ace = 1, Faces cards and tens = 0, Number cards are their own points value. As the number ten is a zero in Baccarat, for any double digit point scores the ten is dropped.
Examples – the player or dealer are dealt a 9 + 7 = 16. The ten is dropped making the hand a 6 point score. If this score is closer to nine than the other hand it wins. A three card rule applies when the hand adds to less than that determined by the rules. In this instance another card is dealt and points are added in the same way. After that it is either win or lose.
What is nice, and also unusual about this 888 version is there are an additional two ways to win. This is one of the tweaks we sometimes see. So, as well as the traditional wagers on “Player”, “Banker”, and “TIE” at 9 – 1 odds (slightly higher than normal), we also find a wager for the player receiving a pair in his hand, as well as a dealer pair bet.
