About Baccarat By Oryx

Oryx is a casino gaming software developer which has taken the classic game of Baccarat and brought it into the online gambling sphere. This game is also known throughout the world as Chemin de Fer or Punto Banco or. Current versions are a French derivative of an Italian game from the Middle Ages. Modern Baccarat is fun to play, simple to master and is one of the most sophisticated casino games that is traditionally loved by high Rollers.

Visually this game is quite different from some of the other games of baccarat that we have played. The cards are first dealt face-down, and then turned over, they are also quite small and not immediately easy to read. It offers a history of the hands played, and a minimum wager of 1.00 with a maximum of 500.00.

How To Play

Baccarat is a game of chance not skill, and is played between a player and a banker. Six-decks of 52 cards are dealt from a shoe which is shuffled after every game. The goal for the player is to draw a hand of two or three-cards that holds a value closer to 9 than the banker. When a hand adds up to 8 or 9, points this is called a "Natural", and no additional cards will be dealt. However if the points on the hand are too low, then a third card rule applies and another card is dealt.

Points are made up based on the score on the cards. Aces equal one point, tens, and face cards equal zero points, and number cards equal their own numbers. As the number ten counts as a zero, when a hand adds up to 15, or 16 or 17, the ten in that number is automatically counted as zero. So, a hand valued at 15 would equal 5, a hand valued at 16, would equal 6 and so on. There are no double digits in Baccarat. There is only 9, and numbers below 9.

Traditionally only three types of wager are available on a Baccarat table, although some software developer do tweak this rule and add another couple of ways to win or lose. This Oryx version carries the traditional three wagers which are on the player, the dealer or a tie. Tie bets pay out higher than the other two wagers, and occur quite frequently. Players place a chip value in the demarcated place on the table, click deal, and then the game plays.
