Features

Set into a tropical seaside backdrop which includes two beautiful beach-ready bodies (fortunately no bums, but plenty of muscle) – one male and one female; there is an enchanting animated crab which scuttles across the screen behind all the action taking place. The beefy blonde surfer boy, complete with shark tattoo, encourages players to purchase a new card, while the blonde beach babe sexily waves an arm and blinks her eyelids.

A coin bet range of from 0.01 up to 50 makes this scratchie an easy play for fans of the games with many different sized bankrolls. Icons included thong sandals, coconut cocktails, buckets and spades, shells, a beach-ball and starfish. The highest paying icon is the pretty pink shell at x 50, while the thong sandals afford us regular wins of x 1.

Players are able to increase or decrease the size of their wager by clicking on the appropriate key, and are also able to see their balance (winning or otherwise), in the bottom right hand side of the screen. This reviewer could not find a way to switch of ambient sounds. But the sound of a steel bank playing in the background is not all that intrusive to the game as a whole.

Strategy

Scratch cards are not really games of strategy. They are random number games, and are in essence played for fun. Scratch the sun symbols to reveal beach-related icons and uncover prizes this way. Playing for a low wager guarantees hours and hours of fun, and the truly nice thing about this game is that it can be played for free first, until the player makes up their mind that they would like to play for real money.

Bonus Feature

There is no bonus feature in beach bums, but then again, it is a very simple game, and does not detract from that.
